Happy Friday! Who is eating out tonight or tomorrow?!
Here is a quick little HEALTHY MENU GUIDE to follow when ordering if you’re eating out this weekend or the week to come! I love to eat out and try new restaurants and foods, but portion sizes are enormous and most of the time places are not at all health or calorie conscious, at least definitely not enough in my opinion. If you’re not sure what to order to stay on the healthier side, choose foods that are listed on the menu with the preparations from the list on the right in the infographic (also listed below).
Feel free to screenshot or take a picture of the infographic to save as a reminder when you go out! My personal favorite is to order blackened proteins like chicken or fish and if they don’t list any blackened options, it doesn’t hurt to ask if that’s a possibility. It is really flavorful because of the spices they use to make it and it’s a little bit different than just your plain old basic baked or grilled protein.
If you are going to enjoy something from the less healthy list on the left, be my guest, I’m not saying that it’ll kill you if you do and I certainly get something from there from time to time. I definitely love fried things like mozzarella cheese sticks, fried chicken, cheesy pizza, and beer battered fried fish! Ahh! I try to make those be items be things I get on a special occasion and not every time I go out to eat. Another option is to eat a smaller portion of things like that, so if you can stick to doing that, go ahead and track your calories or macros for the day and allow for it.
